Honest! we have been taking a vehicle to the dealership and have noticed every time we went, we were told we needed to fix things that cost upwards of $2000+. After spending several thousand doing their CVT fix, we were recently hit with another $3000.00 quote to fix the oil pan. We decided to take our car to Alternative for a second opinion. Took my daughters Camry here and they very thoroughly found a problem we had been dealing with for months and couldn’t pinpoint. Very satisfied with them, and they are reasonably priced as well.
Brake pad replacement service. As a customer you need an estimate to understand the full scope of work being done whether it is given freely (common) or asked for by the customer. All work must be explained to the customer for a total cost before any work is proceeded to completion with full customer authorization. Be aware and don’t assume the best will take place.
Brought in my spindle and wheel hub assembly and they didn’t hesitate to replace it right then and there. I walked in at 3:30, and left at 4:10 (they close at 5:30) price was inexpensive.
I thought I heard the a/c compressor getting noisy at times.I had Alternative take a look at that, plus other pulleys and the serpentine belt.No trouble found!Prognosis is for 10-20 thousand more miles, then a re-check.They also checked control arm bushings, brake fluid condition.Another shop might take advantage and replace a lot of stuff but not here.I’ve been coming to Alternative. Auto for 20 plus years and I trust them.Recommended.
I recently had my 2010 Toyota Tundra break down. The Alternative Autoworks team was very helpful. Once I got the truck there they diagnosised the issue, and contacted me with an estimate by email so I could review it, which was greatly appreciated. Had oil on the passenger side CV- axle. AA thought it was one of 3 things and gave a price to fix each. It turned out to be a fourth but much cheaper problem to fix. So far no more leak. Great job!

I will always look for mechanics who don’t just try to suck money out of people, who take the time to explain things so I can learn how to best care for my vehicle, and who don’t treat me like I have one brain cell because I’m female and blonde. One of the worst experiences I had with a mechanic. Poor communication throughout the process. I would not recommend. Brought car in for specific repairs and all that was accomplished was an “inspection”. Did not complete the repairs, did not communicate that they could not complete the repairs either at the time of booking, or throughout the day. When I picked up at 4:15 I was told they didn’t have time. Wish I would have been told sooner. Worst communication from a mechanic.
My wife has been taking our Subaru here for years and we’ve always been happy. Today I took our Toyota for the first time and the experience was great. From drop off to a phone call with diagnosis was only a few hours. They clearly explained what the issue could be and the range of price depending on the fix. Ended up in the middle of the low and high estimate and were able to complete the repair quickly. Extremely pleased with the professionalism and honesty! Definitely the go to place for our vehicles. Love these guys. I brought my car into 2 shops before hand because my car was pulling to the right and they couldn’t figure it out. Instead of throwing more money at it, they diagnosed the issue to being worn control arm bushings and a noisy wheel bearing. After these were replaced the pulling is gone and the car drives amazing. These guys are honest and don’t pressure you into doing unnecessary work. I will definitely be coming back here for anymore car issues.
I spent thousands here. I went without a car for a week because they refused to give me a loaner vehicle. They told me that they would have a loaner car for me and I saw their loaner cars in the lot but they refused to let me use one after they told me on the phone that I could get one. I will not be back.

I have had several excellent experiences with Alternative Autoworx, most recently when I could not get my key out of my subaru impreza’s ignition. I had to leave my car in the parking lot with a key in the ignition, locking it from the outside using another key and dropping the key in the drop box. The whole situation felt stressful, as it was a Sunday after hours, and I was uncertain about whether my car would be safe overnight with a key so visible from the window. An employee observed this situation and took the initiative to move the car into the garage so it was secure all night. Even though I did not have an appointment, by 9:00am the next day, the issue was diagnosed, a plan to fix it was in place, an email with a work order and a phone call detailing the issue occurred, and I was able to pick up by that afternoon, less than 24 hours after dropping off. It was incredible service, and I’m so glad to have a mechanic I trust so much.
Awesome, honest people. I went in for an oil change and they found a big issue where the transmission mounts to the engine. Instead of just quoting me a price and scheduling the repair, they advised me to reach out to Subaru to see if there is anything that they could do for me. I found out that there was an extended warranty on the transmission and it was fully covered. Thank you for your honesty and advise, I will definitely continue to use you in the future!
AA is extremely close to me, I’ve read great reviews on them on Nextdoor, & they have been good to me. Even when I just drop in for advise or help, they’re there for me.
Top of the line service. There’s a reason this company has 4.9 out of 5 stars. Probably a 4.9999.After I tried doing my own “simple” oil change on my subaru, I accidentally drained the transmission fluid instead of the oil. Common mistake as I’ve been told but not a simple fix. Realizing what I did I went about refilling my transmission fluid. When I refilled it, I tightened the fill bolt so much a piece of the transmission bolt threads broke off. Thinking it was game over and calling all other local repair shops with my story, everyone had said, my transmission probably wouldn’t be salvageable. AJ told me to bring it in and they’d check it out. I told them I felt threads deeper then the bolts length when I was attempting to fix what I had already messed up.After calling around on quotes to fix my transmission and being told by everyone, I’d have to buy a new transmission, I called the boys at Alternative Autoworx back and they had remembered me from calling them a few days prior. They had a tech available and told me to bring my car right in. No appointment needed. They took care of my bolt issue in a couple hours and saved me multiple thousands of dollars. (3-9,000 was what I was being told) These guys fixed my problem for under 500 dollars.Moral of the story is, you get further with honey then with vinegar. They looked out for me to save me a buck, instead of make a buck off me if the could. I don’t feel like that’s a common practice with businesses anymore. I’ll be back for EVERY issue I have so I don’t do something stupid again.

This is the only place I will go to to have my subaru worked on. I’ve gotten to the point that I trust them so much I don’t even question if it needs to be repaired. They don’t just try to up fix stuff. They do what needs to be done period.
I feel I always get straight talk about what’s needed and what’s not. If something is recommended but not crucial to safety they will tell you so. I keep coming back even after I moved a couple hundred miles away.

TL;DR This is now the place I trust for all my non-standard repairs.Brought in my 2013 Prius C for a wheel that had been shoved back into the wheel well after sliding into a curb at speed.Jesse walked me through everything, answered all my questions, and all my repeat questions. There was uncertainty about additional post-alignment repairs being necessary once the first set of repairs were done. We went through some scenarios and whether to go the route of totaling, vs paying for the repairs and hoping the alignment didn’t show hidden necessary repairs.I’m very not a car person. I hopped on a multiway call with Jesse and my two family members who are car people, and Jesse explained everything great.I decided to risk it and hope there weren’t post-alignment repairs. Parts were expected to take a while to ship. They gave me a 2001 Subaru Outback with 190k miles on it as a loaner for free. Used it for my daily 25min commute for two weeks without issue.Everything went great! Alignment came back better than expected. Been driving it for a week now without any issues.

My son’s Subaru has been being worked on by my brother and i for weeks now and we have been fighting it the whole way. Well we have tried to fix everything and there was one noise we couldn’t fix. We called up Alternative Autoworx and asked if they could take a look at it. Even during this busy Christmas time they took our car in to diagnose it only because they were very busy with all their work and would have to fix any problems after the first of the year. They still took it in and not only diagnosed it they did the needed repairs and aligned it for us within 3 hours they were done. Daughters 2015 Forester CVT leaking at only 47,000 miles. They took care of the leak and AC issues in a timely manner. They were very professional, and reasonable. We have taken our Honda CRV there also and received great service during that visit also. Clean pleasant waiting room and helpful talkative staff. We live in the area and will continue to bring our vehicles there without hesitation.
Had Autoworx do an oil change. Next day had oil on garage floor because oil filter had come loose after driving. Autoworx had my car towed to shop and they fixed the issue. They also sent out workers to clean my garage floor. Mistakes happen and it was good to see Autoworx take responsibility and make matters right. Have used them before and been satisfied.

First off, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS AUTO SHOP! They will definitely be my go to auto shop anytime I’m in Colorado. As a woman, there is a natural apprehension going to an unfamiliar auto shop because, let’s be real, some auto shops treat women like they don’t know any better and take advantage of them. Jessie and Greyson has been absolutely wonderful from start to finish. These guys were not only professional, kind, considerate, and honest, they were fun, easy going, great to talk to, chill, detailed, on top of everything, organized, and made me feel like family (like a family member they liked having around LOL). They made me feel safe and comfortable to communicate any of my car concerns, so much so that I just had any of my other car concerned fixed at their shop.My car problem:Anytime I was driving my car, my low beam headlights would switch back and forth from low beam to high beam, which can be distracting and potentially dangerous on the road for other drivers. Jessie was very professional and quick to diagnose my car problem. He made it easy for me to make an informed decision about what options I had with fixing my car. I was presented with the option to either get a new switch for the headlights or get a used one that may be just as good as a new one, but I would save about $50 and time because the used parts would be readily available. I was only in Colorado for a couple of days, Jessie and Greyson worked with me to get my car fixed faster than I expected, saved me time, and saved me hundreds of dollars. I have been quoted 3 – 4x the amount from other locations compared to what this auto shop actually charged me.I would definitely trust these guys with my car and 100% agree why they have 5 stars top ratings on google maps. I will definitely be going to them next time I have car issues or need a check up for my car. This auto shop was absolutely worth 40 min drive + for me to get my car seen and fixed by them! I have them worked on my 2010 Forester head gasket last year; it was my first experience. I liked their honesty, skilled diagnosis, professional response. Never recommend anything unnecessary. This year, I have serviced our 2017 Forester and this week Toyota Rav4. Jessie is very knowledgeable and is a gem in the crown.

This was my first visit. I was impressed by the knowledge of the staff, the friendliness, and by what they didn’t do. Based upon a visit to another repair shop for a previous oil change, I was advised that the rear brake pads needed to be replaced soon. However, Alternative Autoworx said I had another 10K miles of wear left. Thanks for not selling me a service I didn’t need today.
Jesse and the staff at this location are phenomenal! I took my crosstrek there for the first time and they made me feel like family. I took my 06 Subaru outback to Autoworx after numerous attempts to fix my problems to no avail. Took it to other mechanics as well and they could not diagnose the issues. Took it to a Autoworx and within three hours they had the issue resolved and the car was running great again. Much appreciated. I would recommend this place to anyone.
These guys don’t just specialize in in Subaru, they specialize in LOVE. It took me 5 years to take my Forester back to this shop, because I do a lot of my own work. I went in to get diagnostics on my car after killing in up in the mountains. I got a lot of bad news, but I had the honest truth when I left. I had the car towed in, and drove it home with piece of mind. My bad news was east coast weather made my repairs on the brink of imposable. But they told me. I love these guys! The Autoworx has been great. I took my car to them for the first time about 8 months ago and have since returned multiple times taking my wife’s, daughter’s, vehicles. Paul and Jesse have been a pleasure to work with.

Had engine work done on older Forester a while back. Was slightly less expensive than quotes, and has been solid. Just took it in for brake concerns (noise) that cleared before the appointment. They did not try to charge for unneeded work, and let me know brakes are in good shape. Trust them with my Subarus.

These guys are the go to Subaru guys in the front range… there’s a lot of imitators, but few who have such extensive and refined experience with the beloved Subaru family. I trust these guys to watch my newborn if it came down to it, because that just what my ‘06 Hawkeye is to me… my baby!
I had a1998 Subaru Outback that Joel worked on for many years. I just bought another Outback and am so happy that I can once again have Alternative Autoworx work on my car! This is a very trustworthy outfit, and they do excellent work.
The brush guard on my car came undone on a Tuesday of Thanksgiving week. Alternative was busy with other customers, especially since it was a short holiday week. Because the repair to my car was minor, and didn’t require a lot of time to fix, I was able to get my brush guard reattached the same day. The folks could have told me to wait a day or so due to how busy it was, but worked me in and were professional and courteous about it. If I had another issue with my car, I have the faith and confidence to go back knowing that Alternative will do an honest job.
From routine maintenance to brakes and timing belt, Joel and his team have kept my ’96 Impreza Brighton out of the salvage yard. The mechanics are incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and honest. They explain technical issues in a way that I can understand. I frequently recommend Alternative Autoworx to friends and colleagues and will continue to do so.
Worked with Jesse throughout the process and he always kept me up to date on my complete engine build for my WRX. They came near perfect on the estimate and there were no surprises. The guys building the engine did a fantastic job and overall very professional. Highly recommend!!
I have been going to Alternative Autoworx now for several years for both routine service and repairs. Recently, I noticed an odd noise coming from the engine compartment. I dropped by my car off and they had time to look at it in a reasonable timeframe and they were able to quickly diagnose and repair the issue at a reasonable price. I love the fact that they are very honest and have been able to fix every concern that I have. This is a great shop with honest employees that I trust with my Subaru care.

I stopped in here with a couple warning lights on my dash and pretty concerned. Being a woman, I am weary of going to auto anything by myself because it is not at all my area of expertise.I was treated so kindly and respectfully by Jason and Bob—Bob fixed all of the issues in 5 mins and eliminated the warning lights. Wonderful service, exceptional mechanics. Will be my go-to service spot—should be yours too!
I went to Alternative Autoworx because the Subuaru dealer in Boulder told me that I needed new front struts for $1100. So I called AA to get a second opinion – not only did they come in WAY lower, but after they took a look at my car, they assured that I actually DIDN’T need new struts on my Subaru! What an honest company!! I will recommend them high and low for being so honest and trustworthy.
I’ve been to Advanced Autoworx twice now for my Outback. Once for a check engine light that my usual repairman couldn’t fix, and again for a routine oil change. Both times they were very professional, straightforward, and gave reasonable recommendations for work. I will be back again, and would recommend to any Subaru owner.
The best mechanic I’ve ever been to. Great personalized customer service and the results match. I’ve been taking my 96 outback to them for over 8 years and over 130k miles. Now we’re at 265k and still bumbling around like the day I got it. I recommend any Subaru drivers to visit from any maintenance needs!
This was absolutely one of the best experiences I’ve had at a car shop. Not only were they quick and fairly priced, but the staff we friendly and fun, making car trouble feel way less awful than it always does. 100% will be taking my Subaru there moving forward!
These guys helped me find a used motor for my 2011 Subaru Impreza after the old one failed. It is now running better than when I first purchased it a year ago and the repairs were all within my budget! After shopping around I found they had the best prices and best reviews. They were super patient and helpful during a very stressful situation. I will definitely be bringing my car back here!

Until I found Alternative Autoworx a number of years ago, I never had an auto place I trusted. They’re great – trustworthy, reliable, excellent service, good quality, and reasonably priced. I take two cars there and never have had any concerns.

The crew at Alternative Autoworx have been taking great care of my Subaru Legacy maintenance and repair needs for years. We were on our way to the mountains for a Thanksgiving holiday years ago (literally end of day on Wednesday) and one of my tires was leaking and need air multiple times that week. Apparently, I hit something and somehow the wheel was bent and lost a strong seal. The Sub dealership looked – said it was not repairable, it would take days to get a pricey new wheel in with the holiday. I randomly called Subaru places with great reviews and Joel (owner) told me to bring it in for them to look. They fixed it in minutes (never had another issue with the wheel), didn’t charge me anything and sent us off to enjoy our family time. This is one of several stories I personally have of the great service and kindness of this shop. The owner and his staff truly are the best at offering exceptional, trustworthy service. And I love that I am supporting a locally owned business with years of experience and so many happy, loyal customers!
Came here on a whim (after I couldn’t get an oil change in a time crunch anywhere in town) and I couldn’t have been happier. place has very professional customer service and the shop/lobby is very clean and makes you feel welcome. Zach in particular was attentive and helped me out which shows these guys go the extra mile for new customers. I’d recommend them to anyone!
I brought my legacy in to have the air conditioner fixed. They did a great job, were super friendly, and even expedited the timeline to get me out in time for daycare pick up! I’ll definitely be back.

I went to the Dealer and was shocked of the price they gave me on what I had to have done. Alternative Autoworx prices were a lot better so I had some other things taken care of, the mechanic explained everything that was done, the service was so much more personable and was done in a very reasonable amount of time. They will be taken care of my Subaru for a long time.
Subaru Owners, this is the Auto Repair Shop for Denver area. Excellent service, Customer Service, improving your existing Subaru and pricing reduced compared to Dealer Pricing with better parts in some cases. I have a 2004 Subaru 2004 Legacy Wagon they improved for another 100,000 miles. Go there first if you want, but compare here to be impressed.
My first interaction with Alternative was a few months ago when they diagnosed a problem with my wheel bearings when Mike Shaw wanted to replace my transmission! This most recent taillight bulb replacement was handled in fine fashion at a great price. I will always use Alternative, so glad I found them.
Service was quick, easy, complete and friendly. So happy to have a Subaru dealership alternative. Most dealerships are too busy these days.

I have a Subaru and have gotten screwed over more times then I can count by mechanics. From Firestone, Greese monkey and Big’O; these mechanic’s care and give you the facts. Safety is my biggest stress, and they make sure to tell me all that I need but also let me know what can wait or not. I recommend these mechanics 100%, two men who know it all!
Got rear brakes and rotors done this morning. Can’t recommend this business more highly. Service only took 1.5 hours, and I saved myself 100$ by going here. Specialize in Subaru but also work on Toyota and Honda.
A friend once told me that no one every says they like taking their car in for an oil change. But – I do! I’ve been taking our car here for 3ish years now and they’ve never let me down on both the little things and the major service issues. Trustworthy, super informative, and always faster than I expect too. Highly recommend!

Alternative Autoworx is the best Subaru shop I have found in my 30 years of owning a Subaru. Busted a radiator and needed local help fast. I called Alternative Autoworx and Joel had me bring the car in that day and was able to fix it by the next day! The staff was friendly and informative and called me several times during the process to set expectations and provide me with several options. No hidden fees from the shop and a reasonable price on labor as well! What else can you ask for?

I drove up from Highlands Ranch to have Jesse service my 04′ WRX after meeting his lady at a wedding she was doing photography for. So glad that I did! Joel and Co. have been absolutely wonderful. They are genuinely friendly and take care of my Subaru with absolute professionalism. I drive 30 minutes out of my way to get my 2007 Subaru serviced by Jesse and his team of mechanics. Being female and having zero working knowledge of car mechanics, I am always concerned about getting taken advantage of when taking my car in. The folks here take the time to explain what is going on with my car (if anything) and why they recommend specific parts or services. I trust their work and highly recommend them!
Joel (and Joey) have been taking care of my cars since 2001 (and have only owned 2!) Even though I moved out of state 3 years ago i still bring my car in to them whenever i drive in. They are the best at what they do, honest and reasonable. I have recommended them to may.
I had a very positive experience with everyone at the shop. I was able to get in the same day and received several options on the work that I needed to be done. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable and I felt that I was very well taken care of. Would definitely return for any further work on my car.
