5,379 2013 Subaru Outbacks and Legacys might have a steering column shaft that was not correctly assembled that could possibly lead to a steering failure.
Not all vehicles in the VIN range will be affected. The VIN range for the Legacy is D*002001-003605, and for the Outback is D*200001-204233.
